Chinese energy giant Mingyang Smart Energy Group has officially partnered with the Bengkulu Provincial Government for an ambitious Wind Power Plant (WPP) development project worth Rp7 trillion. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the project was signed by the Bengkulu Provincial Government and Mingyang Group subsidiary PT Investasi Ming Yang on May 24, 2025.

The Bengkulu Provincial Government continues to encourage increased investment in its region through various strategic steps, such as through a cooperation offering meeting on May 8, 2025, at the Bengkulu Governor's Office in Bengkulu City, Bengkulu. The meeting was led directly by Bengkulu Deputy Governor Rosjonsyah Mian, who was accompanied by Bengkulu Provincial Government Regional Secretariat Assistant II R.A. Denny.

Bengkulu Governor Helmi Hasan explained that the Bengkulu Provincial Government has allocated Rp1 trillion for the complete revitalization of Baai Island Port.

The Bengkulu City Government is targeting for investments to Bengkulu City to reach Rp2 trillion in 2025. Bengkulu City Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) Head Irsan Setiawan expressed optimism that the target coyld be met.

The Bengkulu City Government recorded realized investments to Bengkulu City, Bengkulu Province reaching Rp1.04 trillion out of the Rp3.5 trillion target in the January to December 2024 period.

Bank Indonesia (BI) Bengkulu Representative Office Head Wahyu Yuwana Hidayat conveyed that BI Bengkulu predicted Bengkulu Province's economic growth in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025 will be in the 4.4 to 5.2 percent range. The information was revealed at a press conference in Bengkulu City, Bengkulu on Feb. 7, 2025.

The Bengkulu Provincial Government is accelerating investment to the tourism and trade sectors to drive economic growth in the province for 2025.
