Bengkulu allocates Rp1.6t for infrastructure revitalization

Bengkulu Governor Helmi Hasan explained that the Bengkulu Provincial Government has allocated Rp1 trillion for the complete revitalization of Baai Island Port.

"Indeed, there are comments on social media criticizing the grand meal event [involving 100,000 people]. They say that the community needs a good port, not a meal event. I will clarify that the government's focus is not just on one thing. We can work on many programs at once, all running simultaneously," explained Helmi.

In addition to port development, the Bengkulu Provincial Government has also allocated Ro600 billion to repair damaged roads across various regions in the province.

"Infrastructure repair is a priority. With the correct [application] of austerity, we can [still] repair damaged roads to [ maketransport] connection between regions smoother, accelerate economic growth, and improve the people's welfare," he added.

In addition to focusing on infrastructure, the Bengkulu Provincial Government is also running various social programs.

"The government will also hand over 129 free ambulance units to regencies and cities, provide 100 garbage containers to support environmental cleanliness, provide legal assistance for village heads, and distribute Besurek batik cloth to villages to help preserve culture," concluded Helmi.
