The Aceh Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) recorded that foreign investments to Aceh reached US$10.3 million in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025.

"We continue to strive to promote investment activities in various leading sectors in Aceh, one of which is by facilitating business and licensing for every investor who wants to invest in Aceh," said Acting Aceh DPMPTSP Head Rahmadhani in Banda Aceh City, Aceh on July 22, 2025.

He explained that the largest amount of foreign investment to Aceh in Q1 2025 came from the mining sector with US$3.6 million.

"The mining sector remains a favorite to investors of Indonesia's westernmost province. Of course, we continue to prioritize environmental sustainability through the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles," Rahmadhani added.

At second place was the food crops, plantations, and livestock sector with an investment of US$2.6 million, followed by the transportation, warehousing, and telecommunications sector with US$2.3 million. Regions of Aceh with the most foreign investments in Q1 2025 were Banda Aceh City, followed by the regencies Gayo Lues and Aceh Tamiang. Countries of origins for foreign investors who placed their capital in Aceh included Belgium, Seychelles, and Singapore.

"Aceh is a safe and comfortable region, making it very suitable and viable for investment," Rahmadhani stated

The Aceh government, through relevant agencies, continues to improve various supporting infrastructure to attract investment to the province of five million people. Rahmadhani is optimistic that foreign investments to Aceh will be significantly better than before in 2025, and expected the investments to create many new jobs.
