With a population of almost 2.5 million, the economy of Bandung in 2023, as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), reached Rp 351.28 trillion at current prices and Rp 221.97 trillion at constant prices in 2010. Since 2020, three business sectors have consistently made the largest contributions to the city's economic framework: Wholesale and Retail Trade; Car and Motorcycle Repair (25.33 percent), Processing Industry (18.73 percent), and Information and Communications (14.69 percent).
Meanwhile, investment achievements in the city of Bandung in 2023 stood at Rp 8.54 trillion, comprising Rp 4.176 trillion from foreign investments and Rp 4.363 trillion from domestic investments. The city's primary investment sectors, notably transportation, warehouses, and telecommunications, collectively reached Rp 3.8 trillion. Moreover, the chemical and pharmaceutical industry reached Rp 1.2 trillion, while housing, industrial areas, and offices accounted for Rp 736 billion. Services contributed Rp 720 billion, and hotels and restaurants attracted investments worth Rp 524 billion.
