The Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices for Subulussalam in 2023 reached Rp 2.56 trillion, an increase of Rp 195 billion compared to Rp 2.37 trillion in the previous year. This rise in GRDP value is attributed to increased production across all business sectors, inflation, and the economic recovery process following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Based on constant 2010 prices, the GRDP also showed an increase from Rp 1.50 trillion in 2022 to Rp 1.56 trillion in 2023. This indicates that Subulussalam experienced economic growth of approximately 4.06 percent in 2023. This growth was driven by various economic improvements across multiple business sectors that were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The acceleration of GRDP growth was due to the increase in post-pandemic production activities in all business fields and was not influenced by inflation. The primary sectors contributing to the GRDP include agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, which capitalize on the fertile lands and abundant natural resources. The trade and services sectors are also significant contributors, driven by the city's role as a commercial nexus in the region.
