Mempawah Regency FSS listed in KEN 2026

The Mempawah Regency Sahur-Sahur Festival (FSS) has once again achieved national recognition after being designated as part of the 2026 Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) by Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri.

This designation has become a source of pride for the Mempawah Regency Government, given that Mempawah Regency FSS is a cultural and religious event regularly held every Ramadan that has been eagerly anticipated by people from all walks of life.

Mempawah Regent Erlina expressed her appreciation and pride for this achievement. She considered Mempawah Regency FSS a cultural event with a long history, born from the creativity of Mempawah's youth through the Galaherang Kreasindo community under the leadership of Yusmidi.

"Alhamdulillah, after a long journey spanning decades. The Mempawah Regency Sahur-Sahur Festival has finally been included in the 2026 Karisma Event Nusantara, as designated by Tourism Minister of Indonesia Widiyanti Putri," she stated.

Erlina added that Mempawah Regency FSS is both a Ramadan entertainment as well as a means of strengthening community unity and fostering social harmony.

She expects the festival will continue to be develop, preserved, and be better presented with improved quality of implementation and educational value for the people.

Furthermore, Erlina is optimistic that Mempawah Regency FSS will increase domestic and international tourist visits, positively impacting the tourism sector and the regional economy.

Additional tourists is expected to boost Mempawah Regency's locally-generated revenue (PAD), particularly from the tourism and creative economy sectors.

"As a form of concrete support, the Mempawah Regency Government allocates funds from the regional budget every year to ensure the successful and smooth running of the Sahur-Sahur Festival," she concluded.

Mempawah Regency FSS 2026 took place from Feb. 28 to Mar. 7, 2026, in Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan Province. It featured the Mempawah Regent and Deputy Regent Cup with a total cash prize of Rp 220 million.

In addition, the organizing committee through Galaherang Kreasindo held a Ramadhan Fair at the Opu Daeng Manambon Mempawah Stadium as a means of promoting and marketing local micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) products.
