GIIAS Surabaya 2024 Attended by More Than 35,000 People

The 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) series of automotive exhibitions saw a record number of visitors in Surabaya City, East Java Province with more than 35,000 people attending it.
"Visitor enthusiasm was maintained from the first day to the last day, leading to GIIAS Surabaya 2024 breaking the record for total attendance with 35,385 visitors," Indonesian Automotive Manufacturers Association (Gaikindo) Exhibition Organizers Chairman Rizwan Alamsjah stated in a press release on Sep. 3, 2024.
He elaborated the record for visitor attendance at GIIAS Surabaya this year is for the highest number of visits to GIIAS after the COVID-19 pandemic.
One of the factors that encourages visitors' interest in attending GIIAS Surabaya 2024 is the presence of a car and motorbike driving test area that is larger than previous events. The area accommodates a total of more than 50 cars and dozens of motorbikes that can be tested by visitors through a 1.4km track.
The results achieved were also positive, with a total of more than 2600 car trips and 360 motorcycle trips taking place throughout GIIAS Surabaya 2024. Full support for GIIAS Surabaya 2024 from various sponsors and industry partners is also a significant boost to the success of this year's GIIAS Surabaya.
Gaikindo Chairman Yohannes Nangoi said that the implementation of the GIIAS exhibition series is a source of pride for Gaikindo, including the enactment of GIIAS Surabaya 2024.
"The implementation of GIIAS Surabaya this year has once again recorded extraordinary results, with the largest area, the largest number of participants, and a record high number of visitors," he explained.
Nangoi is optimistic that the visitors enthusiasm will also be reflected in the automotive sales figures, and thus contribute to the national automotive industry's performance this year.
GIIAS Surabaya 2024 was held on Aug. 28, 2024 to Sep. 1, 2024, with 34 motor vehicle brands and more than 15 supporting industry brands participating in it.
