DPC Tiara Kusuma Lamongan hold fashion show for ngabuburit

A unique way of ngabuburit, the tradition of going out while waiting to break the Ramadan fast by maghrib, was carried out by several women who are members of Tiara Kusuma Lamongan Branch Leadership Council (DPC), the Lamongan Regency, East Java Province branch of the Tiara Kusuma national association of salon entrepreneurs and beauty experts.

DPC Tiara Kusuma Lamongan held fashion show for ngabuburit on a sidewalk in the Lamongan Regency Town Square on Mar. 11, 2025. The activity attracted the attention of the public to watch or even join in.

In addition to the fashion show, DPC Tiara Kusuma Lamongan also held social activities such as sharing 100 packages of staple food packages and ready-to-wear (RTW) clothes.

"The initial activity was social service, but we coupled it with the ngabuburit fashion show to make it [more] interesting and entertaining," said DPC Tiara Kusuma Lamongan Head Wijayanti.

The Association of Disabled Women of Lamongan also participated in the activiy to share happiness amid Ramadan.

"We present it to share happiness, the moment is also right during Ramadan," Wijayanti said.

The free staple food packages also drew in the locals enough that they jostle for them.

"Alhamdulillah, the residents were enthusiastic, and they are probably attracted to attend because of they get free [staple food packages]. Hopefully we can continue in sharing and in holding similar activities," she further explained.
