Tangerang City's exports reached US$1.9 billion in Q1 2025

The Tangerang City Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises Office (Disperindagkop UKM) stated that the total export value from Tangerang City, Banten Province reached US$1.9 billion in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025.

Tangenrang City Disperindagkop UKM Head Suli Rosadi in Tangerang Monday said that 15,729 certificates of origin (C/O) permits had been issued by the Tangerang City Electronic Certificate of Origin Service (IPSKA) based on its Free on Board (FOB) data.

"We are optimistic that, based on realized exports in Q1 2025, we can realize the [city's] export realization target for the coming year," said Suli.

He added that the exports is one of the important factors in driving Tangerang City's economic growth for next year. Currently, the destination for Tangerang's total export value is dominated by several countries, namely China, the United States, India, Thailand, and Malaysia.

In addition, the Tangerang City Government also predicts that the increase in the city's total export value will continue to rise as happened in the previous year.

"We are optimistic that transactions will increase in the next quarter (Q2 2025)," Suli said.

Previously, the Tangerang City Government recorded the city's total export value reaching US$3.2 billion throughout 2024. According to FOB data from Tangerang City IPSKA, exports from Tangerang have consistently trended upwards from US$296 million in 2021, US$508 million in 2022, US$2.25 billion in 2023, and US$3.32 billion in 2024.

There are several leading commodities that have contributed to boosting Tangerang City's economic growth, including textile products, chemicals, plastics, telecommunications, computers, and electricity that have reached foreign markets such as Korea, Thailand, Australia, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
